The 2022 municipal elections have concluded, and Russell Township has officially welcomed its new council members. Lisa Deacon was the most popular candidate with 3096 votes, and incumbent councillors Mike Tarnowski and Jamie Laurin return for another four years with 2780 and 2736 votes respectively. Rounding out the council election ballot tally is Marc Lalonde with 2597 votes, leaving behind candidates Charles Armstrong, Tony Baas, and Eric Greer.
Deacon, Tarnowski, Laurin, and Lalonde will administrate township affairs with Mayor Pierre Leroux, who was acclaimed to his position earlier this month.
