Russell Township calls out to creative photographers
Russell’s Photography Expo will exhibit four photos that show off what the township might look like in the future

Russell Township has opened submissions for the Township of Russell Photography Expo. Photographers of all skill levels can submit their photos of the township by midnight on August 22 and be featured in the exhibition on September 10.

This year’s theme is “Hometown Future” and will show off what the Township might look like in the future. What will change, and what will stay the same? Who will be a part of the future of the township? Where do history and progress meet?

Submissions and participation are free. Photographers should submit five images to an independent jury featuring critical curators, professionals, and local arts leaders. One winner from each category will have their image printed and displayed as outdoor public art in the Township. The categories are Best Youth (Under 18), Best Portrait, Best Landscape, and Best Experimental.

All images must have been taken within the Township of Russell boundaries. A map of the Township boundaries can be found at www.russell.ca/maps. Visit www.russell.ca/photoexpo2022 to submit photo entries.

Questions should be directed to independent curator Darren Pottie at russellpublicart@gmail.com or the Township of Russell Communications Department at comms@russell.ca.
