The Saint-Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School girls’ soccer team won the Prescott-Russell high school league in a 4-1 blowout against Le Sommet to qualify for EOSSAA.

“They are ecstatic and I’m so happy as well” says the team’s coach, Francis Kwok. The Ravens had previously qualified for the tournament in 2019 but the tournament was cancelled because of COVID-19. The Ravens had a dominant season, scoring 35 goals and conceding only two.

The EOSSAA tournament brings together the winning teams from several high school soccer leagues in Eastern Ontario. The team that wins this tournament qualifies for the OFSSAA tournament, which regroups the best teams in Ontario.

The Ravens qualified for the semi finals of the tournament with a 5-0 against Rideau High School and a 4-2 loss against Notre-Dame High School in the qualifiers. The results of the semi-finals are unavailable at press time.
