During the regular meeting on May 16, Russell Township council voted to approve a flag raising request from the Russell Lions Club in recognition of its 75th Charter Anniversary. It also agreed to name the week of September 12 as “Russell Lions Week”, celebrating the great contributions the club has made to the community over the years. 

The club itself will be hosting various activities throughout the week, and the Lions Club flag will fly at city hall from September 12 to 17. There will be a flag raising ceremony at Town Hall on September 12 at 11 a.m.
