Royal and Penny Cyr have lots of reasons to be happy thanks to a winning lottery ticket.

The St-Eugène couple won on the Encore draw for their March 26 649 ticket. Six of the seven Encore numbers were a match and that meant a $100,000 prize for them.

« I checked our ticket on my phone early one morning, » Royal Cyr told lottery officials in Toronto when the couple went to collect their prize. « I had to check it five times before I believed it. I waited until Penny work up to show her »

« It was unbelievable, » Penny Royal told lottery officials. « I started shaking and crying tears of joy. »

The Cyrs have been married for 26 years and always chose the Encore when they made their regular lottery ticket purchase. They plan to use some of their lottery win to pay bills and also enjoy a trip to Texas to visit with family. They also plan to set aside some of their winnings for future investment.
