Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a fatal collision involving two vehicles that occurred in North Stormont township on April 27. Officers responded to a collision on Highway 138 just before 3:15 pm, and the initial investigation showed that a northbound vehicle and a southbound transport truck collided in the southbound lane.

88-year-old Armand Benoit of Embrun was brought to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A passenger from Benoit’s vehicle sustained minor injuries, and the transport truck driver didn’t sustain any injuries.

The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
