Vankleek Hill to hold fundraising sale

Vankleek Hill’s town-wide yard sale, Trash and Treasure, will be supporting two worthy causes this year. The sale will be offering antique and vintage jewelry donated by residents as well as musical instruments, sheet music, CDs, vinyls, cassettes, and all things musical.

Vankleek Cottage’s Grace Clermont organized this year’s sale and will be preparing the donations for sale as they come in. All proceeds from the sale of jewelry will go to the Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HGH) to purchase new mammography technology, and all proceeds from the sale of musical goods will go to the Vankleek Hill Music Festival, a not-for-profit organization that provides bursaries to music students in need. They also organize concerts, master class, workshops, and the annual two-week Vankleek Hill Music and Arts Summer Camp.

Donations can be brought to Vankleek Cottage every day from 10 a.m. to 4p.m., except Sundays when they open at noon. Jewelry can also be brought to the offices of The Review at 76 Main Street East in Vankleek Hill between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays.

The sale will take place on the verandah of Vankleek Cottage at 105 Main Street East on June 4 from 9 a.m. to 2p.m., and local residents are encouraged to hos their own yard sales at the same time. Space in local parking lots along Main Street will be available for rent for $25 per space.

For information or to book a space, call 1-877-678-3327. The event takes place rain or shine.
