The Clarence-Rockland Ghostbusters of Upper Canada are planning a community rally to show support for Ukraine and residents of Clarence-Rockland of Ukrainian descent. Since February, Ukraine has weathered an invasion by Russian forces, which has led to widespread global support for Ukraine and widespread sanctions for Russia, including several multinational businesses leaving the country. Governments, businesses, organizations, and community groups around the world have proclaimed their support for Ukraine, and that includes the CR Ghostbusters.
“As a community group in Clarence-Rockland, we feel that it is our duty to plan and organize a peaceful and safe gathering, where people can express their support for Ukraine and voice their wishes for a quick end to this senseless and terrible war,” the Ghostbusters said in a release. “The rally will include a few speakers from the community and an opportunity for those who wish to contribute are encouraged to donate to the Canadian Red cross, of which will also be available on site.”
The Ghostbusters have requested to hold the rally in front of Clarence-Rockland City Hall at 2 p.m. on March 20 and have invited Mayor Mario Zanth and the city council to attend.
