OPP reminds snowmobilers to stay safe after a single-vehicle collision in Clarence Creek.

On February 13 around 3:30 p.m., Russell Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the scene of a snowmobile collision in a field south of Labonté Street in Clarence Creek, along with Prescott-Russell Emergency Medical Services (EMS), ORNGE Transport Medicine, and the Clarence-Rockland Fire Department.

The driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital by Prescott-Russell EMS. The passenger suffered serious but non-lethal injuries and was transported to the hospital by ORNGE. An investigation into the accident is underway, and the OPP encourages snowmobilers to stay safe while on the trails.

The OPP would like to remind snowmobilers that staying on the trails is the safest thing to do. Speeding, ignoring inclement weather, traveling over unsafe ice, and consuming alcohol should be avoided.
