Mother Nature has cancelled the COVID-19 clinics for today.

The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) has closed the COVID-19 vaccination clinics in Casselman, Rockland, and Winchester for January 17, owing to the inclement weather conditions that would make travel inadvisable.

The EOHU will be contacting anyone who had an appointment on January 17 within the next 7 to 10 days to reschedule. Anyone not contacted by January 28 is asked to call the EOHU at 1-800-267-7120.

Individuals whose appointments are cancelled can also book another appointment through Ontario’s COVID-19 vaccination portal available at www.Ontario.ca/bookvaccine or by calling the Provincial Vaccine Contact Centre at 1-833-943-3900.

Snow fall amounts are projected at being between 25 and 40 centimeters. Emergency services in the region suggest that all citizens should stay home if possible and avoid driving anywhere.

“Snow, at times heavy, with peak snowfall rates of 2 to 4 cm per hour possible Monday morning, which could significantly reduce visibilities,” said the Enviornment Canada warning. “Local blowing snow due to wind gusts of up to 60 km/h.”
