Firehouse receives donation from firehouse

The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada (FSPSFC) has named the Russell Fire Department as a recipient of their 2021 grant. Funding in the amount of $10,712 has been given to make Russell Township safer than ever, money that will be used to purchase a Williams gear dryer and a ResQmax line launcher rescue device.

“We’re so thankful for the support from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, and our local Firehouse Subs restaurants in Ottawa & Orleans,” said Fire Chief Bruce Armstrong. “The Williams gear dryer will properly dry bunker gear and allow faster turnaround time for the gear to be back in service. The ResQmax line launcher rescue device will allow for a safer and more timely approach to saving victims in a water and rescue emergency. Both pieces of equipment will benefit the community and the health and safety of our firefighters”.

Since 2015, the FSPSFC has awarded over 260 such grants to public safety organizations across Canada. To donate and learn more, visit any Firehouse Subs restaurant, or donate online at CanadaHelps.org.
