“We are very proud of the excellent work of our team,” said Brigitte Pigeon, Hydro 2000 board president, during a June 15 report to township council. 

Hydro 2000 Inc. is the local distribution company for electricity in Alfred-Plantagenet Township. The township became the sole shareholder when the company was incorporated in 2000. 

The publicly-owned company oversees electricity service for more than 1200 homes and businesses with costs based on Ontario Energy Board charge rates. 

The company’s end-of-year financial report presented to council showed that Hydro 2000 had a net profit for 2021 of $52,079. That money will be reinvested into future capital works service projects
