The mayor of Clarence-Rockland, Guy Desjardins, has died after a long illness.

In a statement, the City of Clarence-Rockland confirmed the news on Saturday. « Our thoughts and prayers are with his partner Aline, his daughter Tanya, his sons Christian and Jason, and all his family. »

Desjardins was elected mayor of Clarence-Rockland in 2014 after serving as a councillor. He was re-elected in 2018. He took leave for medical reasons on June 22, and had been due to return to work on September 30.
