A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after police executed a search warrant at a Rockland home on Thursday.

The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) was informed of the Thursday morning incident. An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) statement said officers from the Russell County detachment and the Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant on the Cecile Crescent residence shortly after 7:00 a.m.

A 53-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries after officers entered the property, the police statement said.

The OPP referred the matter to the SIU, a civilian law enforcement agency which investigates incidents involving police officers where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
