The Prescott and Russell Residence has updated its COVID-19 positive test results to 61, made up of 38 residents and 23 employees.

Twenty-nine of those cases – 16 residents and 13 employees – were active, while the remaining 32 had been resolved as of Thursday afternoon. Further testing was conducted this week, almost two weeks after the outbreak at the residence was first confirmed.

There were 156 active cases confirmed in the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) region on Thursday afternoon, including 120 in Prescott-Russell. New cases brought the total confirmed cases since the pandemic began in the entire region to 476, or 335 in Prescott-Russell.

The next briefing from EOHU Medical Officer of Health Dr. Paul Roumeliotis is due on Friday.
