“Due to popular demand,” said Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, with a smile during a recent teleconference with local media.
The chief medical officer for the Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) has received lots of requests from people and organizations in the EOHU region for in-person talks with about COVID-19 and related issues. Dr. Roumeliotis has done some lengthy media interviews with CBC and CTV that were broadcast live on those media websites and response to those has been so popular that now he will do a regular Facebook/Zoom Live public question-and-answer session every Thursday evening.
This special one-hour live program is open to residents of the EOHU region and is meant to give them a chance to ask Dr. Roumeliotis about a COVID-19 or related issues that concerns them.
The Facebook Live with Dr. Paul project starts today, 6:30 p.m., through the EOHU’s Facebook at www.facebook.com/EOHU/health. The focus for the inaugural show is on “back to school” issues for parents and their children.
Residents can send questions in advance by leaving a comment on the EOHU Facebook page or sending an FB personal message. Dr. Roumeliotis will take questions in English or in French. During the actual live chat event, people can post other questions through the comment box.
