Staff and alumni at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute went virtual to honour their best and brightest of the past school year.

Administration at Vankleek Hill Collegiate Institute (VCI) organized a virtual awards ceremony for this year’s commemoration of outstanding achievements in academics, sports, community service, and other areas of student life. The virtual award ceremomy was set up to continue the annual tradition of special recognition for VCI students while still adhering to the public health safety protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The ceremony featured Craig Savill as the special guest speaker. Savill is a second-time Canadian Briar champion and also twice a World Curling Champion title holder. He is also a cancer survivor, having won his battle against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2015, and continues to speak out in support of both cancer research and the pursuit of personal dreams and goals in spite of any obstacles.
