“This is the second time we receive a letter like this,” said Bruce Bauer who, along with his wife Debbie, has resided on McDermitt Drive since 1992. “The first one was in 2016 and the second was in May of this year. Before that, we had never received anything of the sort.”
The letter was sent by the City of Clarence-Rockland and, amongst other things, informed the Bauers that they would receive an invoice from the City by September 2019, in the amount of $58.66, for maintenance work performed on the Raymond Vinette Main Drain. “Maintenance work had to be performed on the Raymond Vinette Main Drain, a municipal drain, in order to change three culverts showing failure signs or close to collapse in other parts, for safety concerns,” stated the letter signed by Drainage Superintendent for the City of Clarence-Rockland, Eric Leroux. “We also had to remove nuisance beaver and beaver dam to prevent flooding issues in the area.”
