$50 000 was raised for Ovarian Cancer research and patient support as the community came together for the 5th annual Beau’s 5K Run/Walk for Ovarian Cancer Canada.

“I am just blown away by the support from everyone,” said Nick Courtois, husband of the late Ashley Courtois (Cowan), who died of ovarian cancer in May 2018. Participants of this year’s 5K Run, which took place on Saturday, July 6, braved the extreme heat to honor the cause. They had the choice of running or walking three, five or ten kilometers.

Ashley’s friends and family started the 5K run when she was first diagnosed in 2015. As of 2018, the annual event has raised $ 115 000 for Ovarian Cancer Canada, to help improve the lives and the outcomes of women diagnosed with the disease.
