Lieutenant-General Elizabeth Dowdswell stopped in Rockland on May 23, marking the first time such an official visited the area.

“We are honored to have you here today,” said Clarence-Rockland mayor Guy Desjardins before giving Dowdswell the key to the City as well a framed photograph of City Hall.

“You are always welcome here,” he told the Lieutenant-General.

Dowdswell also stopped by the Très-Sainte Trinité church, where she was welcomed by hundreds of local students.

She then dropped by Rockland District High School and Rockland Manor, before making her way to the Saint-Albert Cheese Factory.
