Marinus DeGroot, of Hammond, Ontario, passed away peacefully, on July 24, 2023, in his 96th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Wilhelmina (nee Vermeulen). Dear father of Mary (Pierre Yves Lalonde), Martha (John Eligh), Joanne (Eric Waddell), John (Sheila Lacey) and Marcel (Gail MacDonald); grandfather of 18 and great-grandfather of 14. Survived by Cor (Joanna) and Carl (late Pat) and sister-in-law Diane (late John). Predeceased by his sisters Wilhelmina (late Jack Toonders), Anna (late Tony Toonders), Mary (late Frank Toonders) and brothers, young Cor, John (Diane) and Jeff. Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff of the Civic Hospital, for their compassionate care. Dad’s smile and sense of humor will live on in our hearts. Funeral service was held at Sainte-Félicité church, 1646, Landry Rd., Clarence Creek, Ontario, on Monday July 31st, 2023, at 11 AM.
