Saturday evening saw another successful Trivia Night hosted by the Russell Trivia Team in collaboration with the Autumn in the Country art team. The event brought together local artists and about 170 enthusiastic patrons for a night of friendly competition and community spirit.

“Everything went well. Autumn in the Country was quite an organized group, and they had lots of wonderful auction items,” said event organizer Connie Johnston. “There were some pretty fantastic paintings, pieces of art and creations that were very unique and very popular. So, it was great.”

Well attended by supporters of the arts, the trivia night not only provided an evening of entertainment but also served a meaningful purpose. By the end of the night, more than $6,700 had been raised in support of the Autumn in the Country group—a testament to the generosity and enthusiasm of the attendees.

The evening featured a lively atmosphere, engaging trivia challenges and a strong sense of camaraderie among participants. Local artists played a significant role in supporting the event, showcasing the vibrant creative community in the region. Ten items were available in the live auction, and about 40 were sold in the silent auction by the end of the night.

“Your silent auction items looked so beautiful with all of the artists’ support. Thank you for bringing alive the story of our community through the arts,” said Councillor Lisa Deacon.

“So much fun was had last night at Trivia Night. We are very grateful to the amazing community that came out and made it happen! From our AitC team, we thank you,” shared Autumn in the Country on its Facebook page. “Big, big thank you to the amazing team and well-oiled machine, Russell Trivia, for an incredible event, helping us raise over $6,700!”

Next Trivia Night set for March 29

Johnston has already planned the next Trivia Night, scheduled for March 29, in support of Eco East, a volunteer-driven non-profit organization with more than a decade of history. Eco East is dedicated to sustainability in Prescott-Russell, focusing on climate, energy, waste reduction, habitat conservation, local food systems and landfill pollution. Russell Township Councillor Lisa Deacon represents Eco East.
