The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) has been recognized as one of Forbes’ Canada’s Best Employers for 2025.

This distinction, awarded in collaboration with Statista, celebrates the Board’s dedication to fostering a positive work environment that nurtures talent, celebrates diversity, encourages innovation, and builds a culture rooted in community and faith.

“We are incredibly honoured to be recognized by Forbes as one of the top employers in Canada,” said Chris Cummings, Chair of the CDSBEO Board. “This accolade reflects our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment. Our faith-based approach and strong sense of community are
at the core of everything we do. This award is a testament to the incredible contributions of our staff and the exceptional leadership that continually drives us toward excellence.”

The CDSBEO ranked among the top 25 organizations in the education sector.

Forbes and Statista identify Canada’s Best Employers by surveying over 40,000 employees from companies with at least 500 employees. The process includes personal evaluations from employees as well as public assessments from friends, family, and industry peers. The final rankings prioritize personal feedback to ensure the results genuinely reflect employee satisfaction and organizational excellence.

“Being named one of Forbes’ top employers is a significant achievement for CDSBEO,” said Laurie Corrigan, Director of Education. “It reflects our enduring commitment to faith and hope, especially during this jubilee year proclaimed by Pope Francis under the theme ‘Pilgrims of Hope.’ This recognition aligns with our mission to foster hope, faith, and community among our staff and students.”

The CDSBEO operates 39 elementary and 10 secondary schools across eight counties, serving approximately 13,600 students. Among these are St. Jude Catholic School, St. Mother Teresa Catholic School in Russell, St. Patrick Catholic School in Rockland, and St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Russell.
