Mayor Gabrielle Parr highlighted several community recreation improvement projects for Harrington Township during the final session of council for 2024.

Work on the new roof for the Harrington Golden Age Centre on Harrington Road should be almost three-quarters finished before the end of January. Township council authorized $100,000 for the project with funds from the community revitalization reserve.

Also receiving $100,000 from the revitalization reserve is the Harrington Valley Community Centre. The money is covering the cost for some major renovation to the community centre premises.

The Lost River Community Centre is also using $100,000 of revitalization funds for rehabilitation work on its kitchen and bathroom facilities.

The township has also allocated funding for further recreational projects this year, including a new public skating rink, a pickle-ball court, and renovations at Madeleine Park.
