It was a cool Friday evening in Vankleek Hill with Main Street crowded with spectators for the annual Christmas Parade.
Earlier in the day saw the first snowfall of the season for the Prescott-Russell region. While the snow cover was thin for the most part and soon gone, it helped set the proper mood for the evening’s entertainment.
Light-bright floats rolled along the village’s Main Street, accompanied by a variety of mascots, horse riders and their mounts wearing Christmas twinkle light riding gear, and finishing with the appearance of Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Prior to the start of the parade, a group of carolers outside of the Champlain Public Library provided a festive musical note to the evening.”
