Desjardins Ontario Credit Union has two $5000 scholarships available as part of its new Youth Leadership program.

The provincial financial institution will award $5000 scholarships to two successful applicants. Those eligible to apply for the scholarships must be between 18 and 30 years of age, enrolled in either a college or university in Ontario, and involved in a program or project dealing with the environment, sustainable development, social programs, or government.

« In addition to our existing scholarships for academic perseverance, we want to recognize and encourage those who are actively committed to the well-being of their community,” stated Billy Boucher, Desjardins Ontario Credit Union general manager and chief operating officer. “The environment, society and governance are issues that are close to our hearts at Desjardins, which is why we’re proud to launch this new program aimed at those young people who make it a personal priority. »

The deadline for applications to the Leadership Scholarship program is November 30. Applicants should provide proof with their application of involvement in one or more of the four subjects that are part of the scholarship program criteria. More information on the application process is at www.desjardins.com/ontario.
