Dr. Brian Nadler, a resident of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Québec, was charged in 2021 with the murder of Albert Poidinger, 89, and later with the deaths of Claire Brière, 80, Lorraine Lalande, 79, and Judith Lungulescu, 93, in 2022. He maintains his innocence, claiming the patients in his care died from COVID-19.
During the preliminary hearing, which will take place over a two-week period at the L’Orignal courthouse, Judge Norman Douglas Boxall will hear from witnesses and prosecutor Matthew Humphreys to determine whether or not the case should go to trial.
Nadler has hired the services of famed criminal defence lawyer Brian Greenspan. Greenspan represented singer Justin Bieber, model Naomi Campbell, Omar Khadr, and the family of Kevin O’Leary.
The preliminary hearings are scheduled to run from May 1 to 5 and 8 to 12.
