During a special meeting on January 10, Russell Township council convened to vote on hiring recommendations for the fire stations in Russell and Embrun.

For Station 1, Council voted to appoint Brian McBain as acting part-time fire chief for an undetermined period, as well as fire prevention officer. Council also reappointed Ian Courville as acting deputy chief, Daniel Aupry as captain, Francis D’Aoust as acting captain, Jimmy Ivanski as lieutenant, Luc Servais as lieutenant and assistant fire prevention officer, and Robert Seguin as auxiliary officer.

For Station 2, council voted to reappoint Darcy Provost as deputy fire chief, Duane Bourguignon as captain and fire prevention officer, Bruce Woolsey as auxiliary officer, and David Scott and Adam Armstrong as captains. Armstrong is also the assistant fire prevention officer, and council also appointed Katelyn Staal, Ryan Kemp, and Chris McLean as lieutenants.
