EOHU offers flu shot

The Eastern Ontario Health unit (EOHU) has released a list of flu vaccination locations for the upcoming week. Until December 21, the EOHU is offering the flu shot to eligible individuals aged 6 months and up at select COVID-19 vaccination clinic on a first-come, first-served basis. No appointment is needed.

“As the holidays approach and we begin to gather with friends and family, I ask that you remember to do your part to protect not only yourself, but those you will be spending time with this season,” said Dr. Paul Roumeliotis, Medical Officer of Health. “Young children and older adults are especially at risk of severe illness from the flu, and we need to do what we can to help them keep out of hospital. We are working to make it easier for everyone to access the flu shot and protect themselves and others during this difficult flu season.”

On Monday, December 12, they will be offering the flu shot and COVID-19 vaccine at the Joel Steele Arena in Winchester from 9:30 am-11:30 am, and again from 1 pm-3:45 pm.

On Wednesday, December 14, both vaccines will be available at the EOHU office, 872 Principale Street in Casselman, from 12 pm-2:30 pm and again from 4 pm-6:15 pm.

On Thursday, December 15, flu shots will be given at the former Payless Shoe Store in Cornwall Square, in Cornwall, from noon-2:30pm and 4 pm-6:15 pm.

On Tuesday, December 20, vaccines will be given at the Robert Hartley Sports Complex, 425 Cartier Boulevard in Hawkesbury, from 9:30 am-11:30 am and 1pm-3:45 pm. Flu shots will also be available again at the former Payless Shoe Store in Cornwall Square from noon-2:30pm and 4 pm-6:15 pm.
