The eastbound lane on Highway 417 was closed near the Casselman overpass last Friday due to a collision involving a tractor trailer. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers closed the eastbound lane between Limoges and Casselman around 2 p.m. on June 24, and use of the emergency turnarounds was prohibited during the cleanup, resulting in a great deal of traffic congestion as drivers slowed to a crawl before they could exit the highway.

The situation was resolved almost 10 hours later, and the OPP announced via Twitter that the highway was once again open at about 11:30 p.m.
