During the regular meeting on June 20, Russell Township council approved a recommendation to award an in-kind grant of $1,166.04 to the Association des loisirs d’Embrun for Russell Summerfest, which took place from June 16 to 19. The same recommendation also rejected an ad hoc grant for $4,000.
The Association des loisirs d’Embrun brought back Summerfest after two years of being cancelled due to the pandemic. They submitted a request for two separate grants, an in-kind grant of $1,166.04 to cover the cost of the baseball diamonds, and an ad hoc grant of $4,000 to help pay various costs. The baseball diamond grant was approved as it has been in previous years, but the ad hoc grant was never asked for before, and was rejected.
