After eight years as chief administrative officer for the City of Clarence-Rockland, CAO Helen Collier has announced her retirement.

Collier has seen the city through major floods, a cyberattack that left it without a website, and the debilitating COVID-19 pandemic. She was in charge of the municipality’s strategic plan and is responsible for overhauling management in city hall.

I just wanted to say how fortunate we are to have had a CAO that was this dedicated. The city was not what it is today, seven years ago when we first started. She has built something, a foundation with the directors and the treasurer in place to make sure this city was on an incredibly strong foundation. I thank you sincerely, Mrs. Collier, for all your hard work and your dedication to the citizens of this city, and you will be missed.”

— said Mayor Mario Zanth.

Council formally accepted her retirement at the April 4 regular meeting. Her retirement is slated to started on May 20.
