A doctor accused of murder while he was on staff at Hawkesbury and District General Hospital will be back in court later in February.

Dr. Brian Nadler is scheduled for a pre-trial appearance February 17 at the L’Orignal courthouse. His case will then return to court on February 23.

Nadler is accused of killing Albert Poidinger, 89, a resident of Pointe-Claire, Québec, when the deceased was at Hawkesbury and District General Hospital (HDGH) last year. Police were at the hospital March 25 2021 in response to a call about a patient’s death.

Nadler was later arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Police have stated they are also investigating any possible connection between Nadler and other deaths at the hospital.

The accused was released on bail in July 2021 and his lawyer has stated that his client maintains his innocence.
