Three people were arrested and charged after attempting to fraudulently purchase a vehicle from a Rockland dealership.

The OPP responded to a call October 22, just after 2:15 p.m., from a vehicle dealership on Laurier Street in Rockland. The dealership called in to report a case of possible fraud, and during the investigation, officers learned that the suspects were to return the next day to complete the purchase.

As a result, three individuals from Montreal were arrested. Two of them, ages 46 and 34, were charged with fraud over $5000 and conspiracy to commit an indictable offence. The third, age 60, was charged with fraud over $5000 and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

The accused were held for bail and are scheduled to appear in court in L’Orignal at a later date.
