A book on every bed for Christmas

A book on every bed for Christmas

For more than 10 years, the Champlain Library has been providing children with a new book at Christmas through the “A Book on Every Bed” campaign. The books are supplied to children whose families are recipients of Christmas baskets from the Vankleek Hill and L’Orignal Food Banks. The Library is looking for donations of new books so that these children will wake up Christmas morning with a book on his or her bed.

The library is also asking for donations of new magazines or activity books such as colouring, word search, etc. to provide to local senior tresidences this Christmas. The aim is to help cheer up the residents of Revera Heritage Lodge and MacDonald Residence in Vankleek Hill and Residence Champlain in L’Orignal during these unsettling times.

Anyone who would like to donate a book or a magazine to this important program, please visit the library’s website at bc-cl.ca to complete an online submission form. Once received, a staff member will call to confirm details. The library will also accept cash donations. All books must be delivered to the library unwrapped with a gift bag and tissue paper before Tuesday, November 30.
