In a regular meeting on September 20, Russell Township council passed a zoning bylaw amendment to allow for the development of the property. The amendment, put forth by a representative of the property owners and recommended by the Planning Advisory Committee, will allow for three townhouses to be constructed on the property. The residential home currently connected to the property will be severed from the vacant lot.
“That lot’s been empty for years,” said Mayor Pierre Leroux. “It just makes sense.”
No details have been released on a timeline for construction.
