The Prescott-Russell Community Development Corporation (PRCDC) is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year. Since 1986, the PRCDC has provided more than $40,000,000 in financial support to 1,063 projects throughout Prescott-Russell. Through its funding, the PRCDC has created and maintained over 6,600 jobs in the region, despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Our source of pride is that we’re helping more and more businesses to expand or to start up,” said John Candie, PRCDC executive director.
Six name changes, several recessions, and the ice storm of 1998 couldn’t dull its spark noted chairperson Eric Drouin, who is proud of the success, entrepreneurs, and communities that the PRCDC has helped.
“As the only regional economic development organization, the PRCDC has demonstrated, once again, the importance of its work on the ground in the communities,” Drouin said. “Our personalized support services for businesses, and our employees and administrator’s expertise play an important role in the businesses growth and competitiveness and the economic prosperity of our region.”
In an official statement, the PRCDC thanked its team members and administrators for their hard work and dedication these past 35 years, as well as the businesses and entrepreneurs that made their work possible.
