Dominique Dussault new Hawkesbury CAO

“Congratulations, Madame Dussault, on your appointment as CAO,” said Mayor Paula Assaly, during the March 29 session of council. “You have served on an interim basis already. Good luck.”

Council gave unanimous approval Monday to a recommendation to appoint Dussault as Hawkesbury’s new chief administrative officer (CAO). Dussault, who is also the town’s human resources director, has been acting CAO since last July when then-CAO Daniel Gatien took a leave of absence. He later tendered his resignation in December.

In January this year a hiring process began for a new CAO, with Alternative RH, a Montréal-based consultant firm, hired to find suitable candidates. The company worked with a temporary advisory committee set up to review applicants. The review committee included Mayor Assaly and councilors Lawrence Bogue and Robert Lefèbvre.
