Business start-up grants confirmed

Thirteen local entrepreneurs got financial assists for their new businesses.

The Prescott and Russell Entrepreneurship Centre (PREC) announced confirmation of $32,500 in grants for 13 new local businesses from the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade’s Starter Company Plus program (SCP).

The grant recipients and their businesses include: Casselman entrepreneurs Sara Anne Mailhot of Café Sucré, and Stéphane Noël  of Noël Mediation Services-Services de Médiation Noël; Hawkesbury’s Lorraine Auclair of Gâteaux Lila Cakes and Sweets, Simon and Élise Guindon of With Simon Commercial Plumbing, Éric Turgeon of Garage Mechlec, and Elena Piccone of Abaru Construction and Property Management Inc.; L’Orignal’s Marc-André Amyot and Valérie LachaÎne of Winston, Michael Inskip of Fairway Green Cannabis, and Patrick Lalonde of Lalonde Physio; Thaila Riden of The Grand Barn in Vankleek Hill, Marc Leduc and Nikolas Dupuis of Seal N Clean in Rockland, BenoÎt Bonneau of Boucherie Bonneau Meat Shop in Plantagenet, and Vanessa Viau, Samuel Doucet, and Aude Martel of Kyan Cuisine in Embrun.

Each grant recipient received $2500 in start-up funding and workshop instruction on financial basics, customer service, online promotion and trade, business planning, and other subjects.
