The club announced that all draws would be postponed until at least February 28. All tickets sold to date and through to the end of February would be eligible for the next draw when it could be held.
In a statement, the club said paper and online ticket sales were permitted, but the paper tickets themselves could not be picked up or delivered due to the 28-day stay at home order that began on January 14.
This year’s Catch the Ace draw had been incredibly successful. The promotion of the competition online drew interest as far away as Windsor, while the jackpot had reached $180,000 at the time of postponement.
The most recent weekly winner was Josée Bercier from Lefaivre. She won $9722 from a ticket purchased at Boutique Lady Jo Gift Shop in Embrun.
The Kin Club of Russell had raised more than $250,000 for local charities at the time the draw was postponed.
