Vankleek Hill’s food drive will move from a door-to-door appeal to a drop-off model this year due to the pandemic.

Those interested in donating to the food drive can drop off their nonperishable items outside the Vankleek Hill Foodland on Saturday, November 28 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Residents who cannot make it on Saturday can also deliver their goods to Vankleek Hill Food Bank itself on Wednesday, December 2, between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Foodland has also given residents the option of paying for hampers or gift cards that will go to the food bank. The hampers come in $5, $10, or $20 amounts, while gift cards could be donated for any amount.

The Vankleek Hill Food Bank asked people not to donate food if they or someone in their household had shown symptoms of COVID-19. Anyone who needs assistance from the Food Bank, or who would like more information, can contact 613-678-8119.
