Officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) pulled the motorist over on the westbound Highway 417 east of Vars on Wednesday night for travelling more than 70 km/h over the speed limit. But the officers also noticed one of the wheels was a “donut”, an undersized spare tire intended only for short distances and to be used at less than 80km/h.

Police said the tires could be “very dangerous” when used at high speeds. The driver’s license was suspended and their car impounded, while they will face court on a stunt-driving charge in L’Orignal on December 3.
